Who is Isaac Argro ?

Azsia Johnson was killed on the Upper East Side while walking with her baby.

The ex-boyfriend of the 20-year-old woman who was fatally shot while walking her 3-month-old baby in a stroller on the Upper East Side has been charged with her murder, police said.

Isaac Argro, 22, who was named a person of interest in Azsia Johnson’s slaying shortly after her death Wednesday night, was captured Friday and taken to the 19th Precinct in Manhattan, police said.

At the police station, Argro, who shares a son with Johnson, refused to speak to investigators and asked for a lawyer, the sources said.

Arrested and Charged

Isaac Argro has been accused of shooting his ex, Azsia Johnson, to death this week.

He was charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, NYPD Police Commissioner Keechant Sewell said in a tweet.

Argro was on law enforcement’s radar over allegations that he abused and “stalked” Johnson in the past, sources and family members said.

Johnson was on his way to meet his ex when he was shot in the head at close range Wednesday night near Lexington Avenue and East 95th Street, police sources said.

The tragic young woman reported to police on New Year’s Day that her ex had assaulted her at their home in Jamaica, Queens, when she was six months pregnant with their child, according to her mother, Lisa Desort, and law enforcement sources.

Desort told The Post that she had been desperately waiting to hear that her daughter’s killer had been arrested and she said she would feel “a little safer” once she was in custody.

When contacted by phone Friday night, Desort said she was still waiting to hear from police to confirm her arrest.

“If he’s been arrested, my baby will get some justice,” Desort said Friday.

“It doesn’t give my daughter back to me and it doesn’t change the fact that the Queens police failed to protect her, but I’ll deal with that another day.”

Neighbors told The Post that Johnson had been living in a domestic violence shelter in East Harlem with his young daughter.

He had recently started selling his personal belongings to pay for a place to live, a neighbor said.
