Who was Jill Barclay?

Jill Barclay’s body was found on Stoneywood Road near her home in Dyce, Aberdeen at around 3:30am. m. of Saturday.

Police said a 22-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the death.

In a statement released via police, Ms Barclay’s family said: “Jill was a deeply loved life partner, mother and daughter.

Now we’d appreciate it if you’d leave us alone to grieve in private.

Investigation

Her body was found near a roundabout, where police installed a cordon and closed the road during forensic investigations. The officers are asking for information.

Detective Superintendent Andrew Patrick, from Police Scotland’s main investigation team, paid tribute to her mother.

His body was found near a house on Stoneywood Road  in the Dyce area of Aberdeen at around 3:30am on Saturday.

He said: ‘Our thoughts are very much with Jill’s family and friends at what is a very difficult time for them.

“We have a dedicated team of officers in the area working on this investigation and I would like to assure the community that they can speak with them if they have any concerns.

“I am calling on anyone who has seen anything suspicious in the area who has not yet spoken to officers to reach out.”
