Tyneka Johnson, 22, reports Nicole Sganga, Justice and Homeland Security reporter for CBS News. Johnson had only worked for Walmart for a couple of months and was saving up for her first car and apartment.

Officers were dispatched to an active threat situation at the Walmart Supercenter at 10:12 p.m. local time, Chesapeake police spokesman Leo Kosinski told reporters at the scene Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning, Police Chief Mark Solesky said officers were on scene within two minutes, entered the store two minutes later, and within about an hour had cleared the store and located all of the victims.

Police appear to have broken down the door and raided the home of the gunman suspected of fatally shooting six people at a Virginia Walmart, footage shows, as the tragedy’s first victim was identified on Wednesday.

The photos show a quaint two-story home in Chesapeake with its front door destroyed and glass strewn across the home’s hallway.

On the front of the house, deep tire tracks are visible, indicating that police drove a heavy vehicle over the lawn before conducting the raid.

Alicia McDuffie, who lives next door to the house, said police raided it after obtaining a search warrant.

The gunman, said to be a store manager, was apparently laughing as he opened fire, killing six of his colleagues before turning the gun on himself.

Victims

One of the victims was identified as 21-year-old Tyneka Johnson, whose family wrote a heartbreaking Facebook post asking for help finding out what had happened to her before they knew she was dead, The Independent reported.

“We need help locating my little cousin. She is a Walmart employee,” a family member wrote after the incident, the outlet reported.

“Everyone needs to know if she is safe. This post is about how to help and locate Tyneka Johnson. No questions. Just help.

A relative later confirmed her death to 7NewsDc on Wednesday, saying she was “the kindest person who never bothered anyone.”

Shooter

The shooter has not yet been identified because cops have yet to notify his relatives. He opened fire on 14 employees in a meeting room while the store was open and packed with shoppers preparing for the Thanksgiving holiday.

One of the deceased victims was identified by her family as 22-year-old Tyneka Johnson, reports CBS News Justice and Homeland Security reporter Nicole Sganga. Johnson had only worked for Walmart for a couple of months and was saving up for her first car and apartment.

Investigation

Officers were dispatched to an active threat situation at the Walmart Supercenter at 10:12 p.m. local time, Chesapeake police spokesman Leo Kosinski told reporters at the scene Tuesday night. On Wednesday morning, Police Chief Mark Solesky said officers were on scene within two minutes, entered the store two minutes later, and within about an hour had cleared the store and located all of the victims.

Two victims and the gunman were found dead in the store’s break room, city officials said Wednesday afternoon. Another victim was found dead toward the front of the store. Three died in area hospitals.

At least six other people were receiving treatment in hospitals and one was in critical condition, the city said.

Police were not looking for anyone else in connection with the shooting.

Solesky said the gunman died of a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound. He said a gun was used in the shooting. The suspect was not identified, pending notification of his relatives, according to the police chief.

The FBI office in Norfolk, Virginia, confirmed that the agency was providing assistance to the Chesapeake Police Department, which was the lead agency in the investigation.
